El director del COE, Juan Manuel Méndez, dijo que se descontinuó el alerta roja y mantiene el nivel de alerta amarilla para 9 provincias y verde para 7.
De los desplazados, 645 están en refugios y 3, 564 en casa de amigos y familiares.
Pese a que se descontinuó alerta roja, el director del COE, Juan Manuel Méndez García, informó que en amarilla permanecen nueve provincias: Duarte (en especial los residentes en el bajo Yuna), La Vega, María Trinidad Sánchez, Sánchez Ramírez, Monseñor Nouel, Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, San Cristóbal y Monte Plata.
En tanto que en alerta verde se mantienen un total de siete provincias, que son Monte Cristi, Puerto Plata, San Juan de la Maguana, Peravía, Azua, Hermanas Mirabal e Independencia.
CONTEMPLAN SOLO 1 FALLECIDO DURANTE PASO DE CHANTAL
En el cuadro de personas fallecidas, el boletín número 9 del COE, solo registra la muerte del bombero, Juan Ramírez, a consecuencia de Chantal, indicando que la muerte de un menor de 16 años mientras se bañaba en el río Jayabo, en el municipio de Villa Tapia, de la provincia Hermanas Mirabal, no cabe en el operativo.
Asimismo, pide a la Policía investigar la muerte de un niño de nueve meses que murió ahogado, al caerse de su cuna al piso de su vivienda que estaba inundada por las aguas del río Ozama, en Los Guadules.
